2. How We Use Cookies
Lalapinta uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential operation — to keep you signed in, maintain your session, and ensure the Platform functions correctly.
- Security — to detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access attempts.
- Performance and analytics — to understand how users interact with the Platform, identify errors, and measure feature adoption. Analytics data is collected in aggregated, anonymised form.
- Preferences — to remember settings you have selected, such as notification preferences and language.
- Push notifications — to register your device with push notification services (Apple APNs, Google FCM) so we can deliver timely alerts to you.
We do not use cookies or identifiers for advertising profiling or for selling your data to third-party advertisers.
3. Types of Cookies We Use
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Platform to function and cannot be switched off. They are typically set in response to actions you take — such as logging in or submitting a form. Without these cookies, the services you have requested cannot be provided.

Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how users navigate and use Lalapinta. All data is collected in anonymised, aggregated form and is never linked back to individual users without explicit consent.

Preference Cookies
These cookies remember choices you make — such as notification settings — to provide a more personalised experience. You can manage these within the app settings.
4. Third-Party Cookies & SDKs
Some features of Lalapinta are powered by third-party services that may set their own identifiers on your device:
- Supabase — sets authentication tokens for session management. Supabase's own privacy practices apply. See supabase.com/privacy.
- Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) / Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — registers your device to receive push notifications. No personal browsing data is shared.
- LiveKit — used for real-time live streaming sessions. Session tokens are created for the duration of a live stream and discarded afterwards.
We do not use third-party advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or retargeting technologies on the Lalapinta website or application.
5. Mobile App & Device Identifiers
The Lalapinta mobile app does not use browser cookies. Instead, it uses equivalent technologies:
- Secure local storage — authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using the platform's encrypted storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) via Expo SecureStore.
- AsyncStorage — used for lightweight preference data such as onboarding state and UI settings.
- Push token — a device-specific push notification token issued by Apple APNs or Google FCM. This token identifies your device for notification delivery only and cannot be used to track you across other apps.
- Anonymous analytics identifier — an anonymised, non-personal identifier used to aggregate usage statistics. This can be opted out of in your account privacy settings.
6. Your Choices
Website cookies
Most web browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will affect the functioning of the Lalapinta website. Below are links to cookie management instructions for common browsers:

- Safari — Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Firefox — Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data

Mobile app identifiers
You can manage data collection preferences within the Lalapinta app under Settings → Privacy. From there you can:
- Opt out of anonymous analytics data collection;
- Manage your push notification preferences;
- Request deletion of your data.
On iOS, you can also use the App Tracking Transparency framework to manage data permissions at the device level. On Android, you can reset your advertising ID in your device settings.
7. Legal Basis
Our use of cookies and similar technologies is carried out on the following legal bases under the ECOWAS Supplementary Act A/SA.1/01/10 on Personal Data Protection and applicable Sierra Leone law:
- Strictly necessary cookies — processing is necessary for the performance of our contract with you (providing the Lalapinta service).
- Analytics cookies — processing is based on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving Platform performance, where that interest is not overridden by your rights.
- Preference cookies — processing is based on your implicit consent, expressed through your use of the Platform features that rely on these cookies.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post a notice in the Lalapinta app and/or on the website. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last updated.
Continued use of Lalapinta after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Cookie Policy.
